Board of Education Candidate Forum – April 14, 2026

Education West Virginia hosts a Berkeley County BoE candidate forum on April 14, 6:00 – 8:30 pm at James Rumsey Technical Institute Assembly Hall, 3247 Hedgesville Road, Martinsburg WV. School board elections are on May 12. Early voting starts April 29 and continues through May 9.

WV Republican Primaries Closed

The WV Republican Party voted in January 2025 to close its primaries, effective 2026. This means Independent and unaffiliated voters can no longer vote in the upcoming Republican primaries.  Those wishing to vote in the Republican primaries may register as Republicans until April 21, 2026. The Democrat Party’s primaries remain open.

Primary Election – May 12, 2026

Primary Election Day is May 12. Polls will be open 6:30 am – 7:30 pm.  Early Voting is April 29 – May 9,  with polls open 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on weekdays, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturdays.  Last day to register to vote is April 21.

Photo ID Required at Polls

WV voters will now be required to present a photo ID in order to vote.

Berkeley County Republican Club opens Online Store

Berkeley County Republican Club

A group of involved Berkeley County, WV residents who participate in the political education of members to broaden their understanding of Republican principles, ideals, and the Republican Party Platform. 

Berkeley County Republican Executive Committee

BCREC was established by WV Code for the purpose of carrying out the duties of Executive Committee, electing Republicans to public office, to advance the principles and interests of the Republican Party and encourage loyalty to the principles of the Republican Party at all levels of government.

Gateway Republican Women

Gateway Republican is an affiliate of the West Virginia Federation of Republican Women (WVFRW) and with the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) and became affiliated in 2005. Gateway covers the counties of Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan counties of West Virginia.
