Mychal Schulz – Candidate for WV Intermediate Court of Appeals
I am a West Virginian by choice. Originally from Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, I came to Charleston, West Virginia, right out of law school in 1992, and I have made West Virginia my home ever since then. I am the proud father of two daughters, Mychala and Starrie.
I have never held public office before I entered the race for the Intermediate Court of Appeals. I am running because the Intermediate Court of Appeals represents a critical part of the judicial system in the state. Established in 2021, it went live on July 1, 2022, and it handles appeals of workers’ compensation cases, most family law matters, administrative issues, and all civil matters. In short, the ICA hears appeals on the kinds of cases that impact the vast majority of West Virginians. That is why it is critical to elect an experienced litigator who has handled matters in each of the substantive areas that go before the ICA. I am that candidate.
Campaign Slogan
“Experience Matters.” A position on the ICA should be filled by an experienced lawyer who is thoughtful, diligent, fair, balanced, and thorough. Those are the characteristics that West Virginians deserve in an elected judicial candidate, and those are the characteristics that I bring to this campaign.
